32 bits ou 64 bits qual a diferença na prática para o seu PC

Você já ficou em dúvida entre instalar a versão 32-bits ou 64-bits de algum programa? Se sim, este texto pode lhe interessar. Vamos falar de qual é a diferença entre esses dois padrões, quando é possível misturá-los e qual é a melhor versão para se instalar em cada situação.

Até 2003, apenas processadores 32-bits eram compatíveis com o Windows. A AMD, no entanto, lançou naquele ano um processador 64-bits compatível com o sistema operacional. A partir dessa data, a Microsoft começou a pensar em melhorar seu software para aproveitar essa nova capacidade dos processadores.

Atualmente, a maioria dos processadores novos são 64-bits. Mas processadores 32-bits, e versões do Windows específicas para esses processadores, ainda existem, o que acaba causando confusão em alguns usuários. Saiba qual é a diferença entre eles.

Bits e código binário

Um bit é a unidade mínima de informação para computadores. Cada bit pode ser 1 ou 0. Por isso, diz-se que os computadores funcionam com códigos binários: no nível microscópico, a informação e manuseada pelos computadores na formas de trilhões de sequências de 1s e 0s.

O código binário permite escrever qualquer número inteiro, da seguinte forma: cada 1 ou 0 se refere a uma potência de 2. O primeiro, a 2⁰; o segundo, a 2¹, e assim por diante. O computador vê uma sequência de dígitos, multiplica cada potência de 2 (da esquerda para direita) por 0 ou 1 e chega a um número.

A sequência 10, por exemplo (de dois bits), equivale a 2 (0x2⁰ + 1x2¹). A sequência 111 tem três bits, e equivale a 7 (1x2⁰ + 1x2¹ + 1x2²). A sequência de 4 bits 1001 equivale ao número 9 (1x2⁰ + 0x2¹ + 0x2² + 1x2³). Como se pode perceber, quando mais bits você usa, mais números você consegue escrever.

Processadores

Para processadores, os termos 32-bits e 64-bits referem-se ao tamanho de seu registro. O registro de um processador é o local onde ele armazena os "endereços" dos dados que ele precisa acessar mais rapidamente para funcionar bem. Esses "endereços" são números por meio dos quais o processador pode acessar a informação de que precisa.

Processadores de 32-bits conseguem guardar um total de 2³², ou 4.294.967.295 endereços diferentes. Esses endereços apontam para a memória RAM, onde as informações de que o processador precisa ficam armazenadas.

Por esse motivo, processadores de 32 bits só conseguem aproveitar, no máximo, 4GB de RAM. A máquina pode até ter mais memória instalada, mas o processador não conseguirá acessá-la, pois só consegue distribuir endereços para os primeiros 4 GB.

Processadores de 64 bits, por sua vez, conseguem guardar 2⁶⁴, ou 18.446.744.073.709.551.616 endereços diferentes! Por esse motivo, podem acessar muito mais RAM do que seus companheiros mais novos. Eles conseguiriam distribuir endereços para 17 bilhões de GB de RAM, mas computadores atuais raramente suportam mais que 64GB.

Além de ser capaz de acessar mais RAM, os processadores de 64-bits também conseguem acessá-la de maneira mais rápida e eficiente, o que acaba deixando o computador mais rápido também.

Sistemas operacionais

O sistema operacional é o software que diz ao computador como deve utilizar seus componentes. De certa forma, ele ensina ao computador como deve funcionar. Dessa forma, mesmo que o seu processador seja de 64-bits, ele não aproveitará esse tamanho expandido de registro se você não instalar um sistema operacional de 64-bits também!

Para saber se o seu processador é 32-bits ou 64-bits, uma série de programas podem ser utilizados, tais como Everest, CpuZ e CCleaner. São programas pequenos que podem ser baixados da internet.

Para saber se o seu Windows é 32 ou 64-bits, vá no menu iniciar, clique com o botão direito em "Computador" e selecione "Propriedades". Na janela que se abrirá, verifique, sob a aba "Sistema", a informação "Tipo de Sistema". A resposta deve estar lá.

Se o seu processador é 64-bits, é sempre melhor instalar um sistema operacional de 64-bits também, para que ele possa funcionar com o máximo de sua capacidade. Processadores de 64-bits podem rodar sistemas operacionais de 32-bits, mas só poderão acessar 4GB de RAM, e terão um desempenho inferior. Processadores de 32-bits, por sua vez, não conseguem rodar sistemas operacionais de 64-bits!

Outros programas

Alguns programas e aplicativos também já estão disponíveis em versões 32-bits e 64-bits. Uma das vantagens das versões 64-bits é que elas podem usar mais memória. Programas 32-bits podem acessar apenas uma quantidade limitada de RAM, que depende também do processador e do sistema operacional.

Um programa 64 bits, por sua vez, pode acessar muito mais RAM. Por isso, tarefas que consomem volumes muito grandes de RAM, como edição de vídeos em HD, funcionarão consideravelmente melhor em versões 64-bits.

Mas cuidado: os programas e aplicativos 64-bits só funcionarão se instalados em cima de um sistema operacional de 64-bits também! Em outras palavras, se o seu processador ou sistema operacional funcionar em 32-bits, você não conseguirá instalar a versão 64-bits do programa.

No entanto, se o seu processador e sistema operacional são 64-bits mas o programa possui apenas versão 32-bits, não tem problema. Será possível instalá-lo e utilizá-lo normalmente.

Resumindo:

Se o seu processador é 64-bits, é melhor instalar um sistema operacional 64-bits.

Um processador 64-bits suporta sistemas operacionais 32-bits (embora não funcione em plena capacidade), mas processadores 32-bits não suportam sistemas operacionais 64-bits.

Aplicativos 64-bits só funcionarão se o processador e o sistema operacional forem 64-bits também.

Não há problema em instalar aplicativos 32-bits em sistemas operacionais e processadores 64-bits.

2. Edison Membangun Lab Pertamanya Pada Usia 10 Tahun

Pada saat Edison beranjak 9 tahun, ibunya memberikan buku ilmiah tingkat sekolah dasar kepadanya. Buku itu adalah mengenai bagaimana melakukan eksperimen kimia di rumah. Edison terpancing: ia melakukan beberapa eksperimen dari buku itu dan menghabiskan uangnya untuk membeli bahan – bahan kimia.

Pada saat berusia 10 tahun, Edison membangun lab pertamanya di kamar bawah tanah rumahnya. Dia membuat lab untuk eksperimen kimia dan percetakan di dalam bagasi mobil, dimana ia mempublikasikan Grand Trunk Herald, koran pertama yang dipublikasikan di atas kereta.

4. Edison Menyelamatkan Seorang Anak Laki-Laki

Di usia 14 tahun, Edison menyelamatkan Jimmie MacKenzie yang berumur 3 tahun dari gerbong kereta api yang sedang melaju cepat. Ayah Jimmie, agen stasiun bernama JU MacKenzie sangat berterima kasih sehingga dia mengajarkan Edison cara menggunakan mesin telegraph.

Setelah itu Edison menjadi operator telegraph untuk Western Union. Dia meminta bekerja shift malam agar dia masih memiliki waktu untuk melakukan eksperimen. Suatu hari ia tidak sengaja menumpahkan asam sulfur ketika sedang melakukan eksperimen dengan baterai. Cairan asam tersebut menembus lantai kayu dan sampai di meja atasannya di lantai bawah. Keesokan harinya, Edison dipecat.

5. Paten Pertama Edison Adalah Suatu Kegagalan

Pada tahun 1869, Edison di usianya yang ke 22, mendapatkan paten pertamanya untuk mesin perekam suara telegrafik (telegraphic vote-recording machine) untuk badan legislatif. Setiap anggota legislatif akan menggerakkan suatu tombol pada mesin Edison yang kemudian akan merekam rancangan undang – undang yang mereka pilih.

Pada saat rekan bisnisnya membawa penemuan tersebut ke Washington DC, ketua komite yang tidak terkesan dengan kecepatan alat itu melakukan rekaman mengatakan “apabila ada penemuan yang tidak kita inginkan di muka bumi ini, inilah penemuan itu.” Lambatnya cara kerja alat itu membuat anggota legislatif lainnya dapat menggagalkan rancangan undang – undang tersebut atau meyakinkan anggota lainnya untuk merubah suara pilihannya.

Sejak saat itu Edison memutuskan ia hanya akan menciptakan penemuan yang dapat dijual.

6. Edison Melamar Istri Dengan Kode Morse

Pada Natal tahun 1871, di usianya yang ke 24 Edison menikahi pegawainya, Mary Stilwell (16 tahun) setelah 2 bulan berkenalan. Pada bulan Februari Edison gusar akan ketidak mampuan istrinya untuk menciptakan sesuatu. Ia kemudian menulis di atas buku hariannya “Mary Edison istriku tercinta tidak mampu menciptakan sesuatu apapun yang bernilai!” Mary melahirkan 3 orang anak, Edison memberikan panggilan “Dot” dan “Dash” untuk anak pertama dan keduanya (kemungkinan diambil dari sandi morse).

Dua tahun setelah Mary meninggal, Edison menikahi Mina Miller yang saat itu berusia 20 tahun. Kisah pertemuannya sangat menarik: setelah kematian Mary, Edison sering pergi ke Boston dan tinggal di rumah temannya, Mr. dan Mrs. Gilliards. Keluarga Gilliards berusaha mengenalkan Edison kepada beberapa orang gadis. Namun dengan penampilannya yang setengah tuli, mata yang melotot, nafas bau dan ketombean yang selalu mendekatkan wajahnya kepada gadis – gadis itu agar ia bisa mendengar suaranya dengan jelas, seluruh gadis itu lari ketakutan!

Suatu hari keluarga Gilliards memperkenalkan Edison kepada Mina Miller. Edison langsung jatuh hati:

Edison menemukan “surga-nya” di Fort Myers, kemudian akhirnya memutuskan bahwa ia harus melakukan 3 hal: membangun rumah musim dingin di Florida, menikahi Mina, dan membawanya ke surganya itu.

Sekembalinya ke New York, Edison yang biasanya gila kerja terobsesi dengan cinta barunya. Kemudian ia menulis di buku hariannya: “Aku melihat seseorang yang mirip dengan Mina. Kemudian teringat akan Mina dan hampir tertabrak mobil. Kalau Mina terus mengganggu pikiranku, Aku harus mengambil asuransi kecelakaan.” (Sumber: Anatomy of Some Celebrated Marriages by D. Edison mengajarkan Mina kode Morse agar mereka dapat berkomunikasi secara rahasia dengan ketukan kode di tangan mereka. Suatu hari Edison bertanya .- – ..- .-.. -.. -.- – ..- – .- .-. .-. -.- – . dan Mina menjawab -.- . …

7. Edison Memiliki Tato Misterius Di Lengannya

Menurut kebijakan 1911 mengenai perusahaan asuransi jiwa di New York, Edison memiliki lima titik yang ditato di lengan kanannya. Tidak ada yang tau apa maksud tato tersebut.

Yang cukup menarik, Edison mendapatkan penghargaan atas penemuan mesin tato yang pertama. Pada tahun 1876, ia mematenkan stencil-Pens, sebuah alat yang kemudian dimodifikasi oleh Samuel O”Reilly untuk menjadi mesin tato yang pertama.

8. Penemuan Edison Yang Membunuh

Setelah Wilhelm Conrad Röntgen menemukan X-ray pada tahun 1895, Edison mengarahkan karyawannya, seorang bernama Clarence Dally untuk mengembangkan fluoroscope. Alat tersebut merupakan sebuah sukses yang akhirnya digunakan dalam rumah sakit hari ini.

Saat itu X-ray tidak diketahui berbahaya dan Clarence memiliki kebiasaan untuk melakukan tes pada tangannya. Pada tahun 1900, ia memiliki luka yang tidak dapat disembuhkan, sehingga tangannya harus diamputasi. Kondisi Clarence semakin memburuk setelah kedua tangannya diamputasi, dan akhirnya ia meninggal karena kangker.

9. Penemuan Edison : Rumah Beton

Pada 1887, ia memulai proyek yang di kemudian hari menjadi kegagalan besar. Ia mengusulkan sebuah ide untuk menyaring besi dari logam berkualitas rendah yang langsung saja ditertawakan orang sebagai “kebodohan Edison.” Edison yang keras kepala kemudian menginvestasikan uangnya sendiri untuk membangun sebuah pabrik dan desa untuk melakukan hal ini, tetapi beberapa tahun kemudian ia menyadari bahwa menambang bijih besi dapat dilakukan dengan biaya yang jauh lebih kecil.

Jadi, dengan seluruh peralatan berat yang tersisa dari kegagalannya, Edison memutuskan untuk masuk ke bisnis semen. Ia menemukan bahwa ia dapat membentuk semen menjadi berbagai bentuk dan berpendapat bahwa ia dapat membangun sebuah rumah dengan menuang semen ke dalam sebuah bentuk raksasa.

10. Menyetrum Gajah

Pada akhir 1880, Edison melibatkan diri dalam “Perang arus listrik” dengan George Westinghouse dan Nikola Tesla. Edison mempromosikan penggunaan Direct Current (DC) untuk distribusi listrik, di mana Westinghouse dan Tesla menggunakan alternating current (AC).

Pada tahun 1903, seekor gajah sirkus bernama Topsy mengamuk dan membunuh tiga orang termasuk pelatihnya. Gajah tersebut dianggap sebagai ancaman dan pemiliknya menginginkan gajah tersebut dibunuh. Saat pembela binatang memprotes metode hukum gantung, Edison menyarankan untuk menyetrumnya.

2016 Tricks How to shutdown your Computer with a Cell phone

This is my favourite secret mobile phone tricks out of the list. When you have everything set up, you’ll be able to send a text message with a chosen keyword such as “˜shutdown’ to your PC. This then activates the shutdown procedure. Here’s how it works.

First, you create an easy text file with a one line command (this is specified in the video) and save it to your hard drive. Then, you set up a Kwiry account and sync it with your Email account which you have set up in Outlook Express.

A rule must then be created in Outlook Express which will detect any incoming emails with that keyword and then execute the shutdown command in the text file when it does.

By sending a text with the keyword to your Kwiry account, an identical email is sent to your own email account, thus you can shut down your PC via SMS when you’re out and about.

It’s best to choose an obscure word so a normal email doesn’t accidentally shut down your PC.

You could also use this for cueing up a video game or a program which takes a long time to load before you actually get home to your PC by choosing another application besides from the shutdown file when creating a rule.

Just a quick word of warning before I sign off: many of the claimed cell phone hacks on the internet are completely fake. When researching this article (and through some SPAM a few years back) I came across lots of bogus guides which either waste your time or potentially mess up your phone. So watch out!

Find Resource-Hungry Programs

Your PC is running slow because something is using up those resources. If it’s suddenly running slower, a runaway process might be using 99% of your CPU resources, for example. Or, an application might be experiencing a memory leak and using a large amount of memory, causing your PC to swap to disk. Alternately, an application might be using the disk a lot, causing other applications to slow down when they need to load data from or save it to the disk.
To find out, open the Task Manager. You can right-click your taskbar and select the “Task Manager” option or press Ctrl+Shift+Escape to open it. On Windows 8, 8.1, and 10, the new Task Manager provides an upgraded interface that color-codes applications using a lot of resources. Click the “CPU,” “Memory,” and “Disk” headers to sort the list by the applications using the most resources. If any application is using too much resources, you might want to close it normally — if you can’t, select it here and click “End Task” to force it to close.

Close System Tray Programs

Many applications tend to run in the system tray, or notification area. These applications often launch at startup and stay running in the background but remain hidden behind the up arrow icon at the bottom-right corner of your screen. Click the up arrow icon near the system tray, right-click any applications you don’t need running in the background, and close them to free up resources.

Disable Startup Programs

Reduce Animations

Windows uses quite a few animations, and those animations can make your PC seem a bit slower. For example, Windows can minimize and maximize windows instantly if you disable the associated animations.

To disable animations, press Windows Key + X or right-click the Start button and select “System.” Click “Advanced System Settings” on the left and click the “Settings” button under Performance. Choose “Adjust for best performance” under Visual Effects to disable all the animations, or select “Custom” and disable the individual animations you don’t want to see. For example, uncheck “Animate windows when minimizing and maximizing” to disable the minimize and maximize animations.
